the influence of info graphics
info graphics are becoming increasingly ubiquitous in our daily encounters with information. with this mode of communication becoming the medium of choice by everyone from the national government to movie promos it is becoming increasingly clear who are the forerunners of the information pioneers. a great info graphic can consolidate a cumbersome concept into a simplified tangible form that makes the topic accessible to the greatest number of people.

with newspapers facing revolutionary changes in their industry, communicating to their audience is even more critical to their survival than ever before. this clip of steven duenes, graphics director of the new york times provides a brief window into the newspaper’s utilization of this visual communication.

and, if you have a little more time and are intrigued by info graphics, here is another video featuring many of the industry’s leading info graphic specialists and their views on data visualization of today and tomorrow.
do you have an info graphic that really made some sense out of an abundance of information? where do you see data visualization fitting into the larger picture of visual communication?
